Well, Jeff accepted the job with Medibis and will start work there on the 21st. He will be "unemployed" for about 10 days while we go on vacation. I was actually teasing him that he will be unemployed and I will be pregnant on our 10th Anniversary. Not exactly where either one of us expected to be. Both situations are temporary though - his more than mine.
The boys are excited to hear about the new baby due Feb. 6th. I think Josh was more relieved than anything to know why mommy has been feeling so bad. He told me last night before bed that he sure hopes I start feeling better in a few days. Actually, his response to the baby news was great! I showed them the ultrasound. Andrew didn't know what it was, but Josh asked, "Whose is that?" I said, "That's our new baby!" "Yours?" "Yes, that's the new baby in mommy's belly." "Yours?!" He was incredulous. He got excited after the initial shock, but I will never forget that!
We called Dad in Cambodia to tell him. I told him that Josh drew a picture for Aunt Rachel of the new baby in mommy's belly. Dad said he would never forget finding out about this baby while on the other side of the world!
I am very much looking forward to this baby. I want to enjoy my time pregnant, knowing that unless God has another surprise for us, this will probably be our last. It is sometimes a little hard to be thankful when I feel so sick, but God will get us through it all!
Let us praise Him for all His unexpected blessings!

Job offers

Jeff has received 2 unsolicited job offers in the last week or so. What a blessing that is during the unsure times at Tronox! We are actually waiting on the second offer, but are expecting it today. God does pour out his great blessings on us. He is always faithful!

What is this stuff falling from the sky?

It has rained! We finally have received rain. I know that our family in Texas hasn't had rain in a long time, either, but we finally got good rain here. Over two inches fell over the weekend, and we got more today. In fact, it's even raining now. Unfortunately, like the surrounding area, it will do little to help the drought, but we'll take what we can get. Josh and Andrew are going a bit stir-crazy, but maybe they will get out tomorrow.

The Deer Came Back

Our deer have come back from winter. After the Oct 23rd hunt, the deer became pretty scarce around here. Except for a few tracks in the snow, we haven't seen them. Last night (Feb 28th) the came running through the field behind our house. We stopped and watched them. It was just after dusk, so we didn't get a good look, but it seemed like there might be eight or more. It is quite nice to have them back. I think we might put up a salt lick to keep them around.

Andrew's First Birthday

Today we celebrated Andrew's first birthday. He actually turned 1 on Dec. 8th, but we got everyone together for his party. He had a good time with the cake, and enjoyed the attention while opening his presents. He was a good sport and really showed how wonderful a child he can be.

Joshua's Third Birthday

On November 7th, Joshua turned 3! He is really becoming our big boy. He had a special breakfast and watched some Jay Jay. He opened a present from Sarah and I that morning. It was a soccer ball he could share with his friends when they came over for his birthday. It was a beautiful day and he and his friends had a great time outside, playing pin the rocket on the moon and playing on the swingset that Sarah and I got set up. They came inside and had rocket ships! Sarah and covered twinkies in icing and put ice cream inside sugar cones and put them together to make the rockets. Each friend had one of their own. Then, Joshua opened the many presents his friends brought him. All had a good time.

That evening, Grammy, Poppy, and Aunt Ruthie came down to visit. We had more cake and ice cream and Joshua got even more presents. See the pictures below.

Joshua's tire swing was too low, so I moved it up a bit. Sarah kept telling me not to fall. Like I didn't know that! Posted by Picasa
